The Friends of Ludington Police is committed to funding the costs of establishing and maintaining a K-9 program, including the K-9 and specially outfitted vehicle.

On January 22, 2024, the Ludington City Council voted to establish a K-9 program with financial support from the Friends of Ludington Police.  The City will now begin ordering a K-9 and specially equipped automobile.
